Hey everyone! Big news from Synergy! We’re thrilled to roll out a new look for 2025!

Did you catch the change on LinkedIn? You can follow us here if you don’t already.

Or maybe you heard about it from someone on our team? We’re committed to having conversations when we can. And it’s no surprise that we’re jazzed about this rebrand!

Or you got our text. Why not, right, since texting is a big piece of what we do! Bonus points if you clicked the link directly from your phone.

Regardless of how, if you’re here, you’ve already seen the change! While it’s not as radical as the shift from Twitter to X, it’s also not as subtle as Walmart * to Walmart * (Wait… Walmart rebranded?)

Company Rebrands

What’s the story behind our recent shift? We’re glad you asked!

The Synergy Story

Like so many start-ups, it began in the basement. Nick Stavarz, armed with ideas and a desire to improve the tele-fundraising industry, launched Synergy in 2002. In the next few years, a few key partners joined him. Together, they worked to build a new tele-fundraising solution based upon their experience and the rapid increase in technology by:

  • optimizing KPIs with the nonprofit organization in mind
  • driving high quality conversations with donors
  • providing transparency through cross-system reporting
  • creating “Synergy” through strategic integration with other fundraising channels

Synergy soon expanded its offerings of solutions by adding Broadcast Voice Messaging, Donor Conference Calling and (DRTV Driven) Inbound Call Handling and Optimization. Mid-Level Donor Engagement arrived in 2015, followed by P2P Texting exploding in 2019.

Our team of employees doubled in size from 10 in 2017 to 20 in 2022 and then doubled again in 2024. We’re super proud of this group! While expanding as a remote workforce, they provided strategic thought leadership, innovative solutions, and transformative service that make us who we are today.

We’ve got great people, and we’d love to introduce them to you!

Our Mission and Purpose – Still the Same

People talk with people. It’s core to being in a relationship and building trust.

At Synergy, we’ve always believed that fundraising is about building relationships, not transactions. And relationships are a key piece of our Core Values.

Nonprofits like yours want to build those relationships by personally engaging their supporters through real conversations. Knowing this, we carry out our mission of connecting your donors to your cause by inspiring them to give now and by keeping them involved for the long haul.

By incorporating innovative phone-based engagement, you tap into the most relevant, reachable, and real-time technology for talking with your donors. Traditional donor communication methods – direct mail, emails, and digital channels – have become more expensive and open rates have declined.

Including a phone-based solution with Synergy can lift the performance of direct mail and digital fundraising communications by creating greater awareness and quicker response. Helping you engage your donors has been the essence of our purpose from the beginning.

Why are we re-branding?

We are celebrating a milestone in Synergy’s continual innovation. Our original role as a tele-fundraising provider has evolved into a strategic partner, as we integrate multi-pronged, phone-based engagement solutions for our nonprofit clients and partners.

Our new logo, the three-color arrow icon, was designed to represent progress, direction, and “movement toward a goal.” We’ve been good at hitting that goal of helping nonprofits talk with donors for years, and in the past year alone, we generated more than 75 million engagements for nonprofits.

The dynamic of three elements or shapes has several meanings. First, there’s a call out to our three solution groups (Outbound, Inbound, and Mid-Level Engagement) that provide the services that our partners depend on. Second, by strategically partnering with our clients using targeted donor communication, the blue/magenta merging to purple reinforces our commitment to deliver something new… a nod to our name where the whole of partnership is greater than the sum of the parts.

Synergy: Donor Engagement logo

Within the word “SYNERGY,” you may have noticed some gaps. You may have also noticed that we dropped color triangles onto some of them. That’s intentional for two reasons. First, our solutions fill in the gaps found in most nonprofits’ donor development communications. Most organizations are not using the phone up to its full potential.

And second, some of the gaps are left empty. That represents our commitment to continual innovation for phone-based solutions we haven’t tapped into yet. As technology and communication preferences evolve, we will continually leverage our unique skills and experience to keep our clients on the front edge of engaging their audiences.

And finally, we’ve politely retired our old tagline “Direct Marketing Solutions, LLC” for one that adds clarity to our purpose: “DONOR ENGAGEMENT.” We know how critical it is for nonprofits to build long lasting relationships with their donors. And that is exactly what our solutions accomplish.

Our Vision for Helping Nonprofits

We see a smarter way to talk with your donors.

We’ve talked about “talking” a lot, because we think people are made for real-time, two-way engagement. And people talking with people is essential to building relationships and trust.

With traditional channels, a lot of words get dropped in one-way communication (like this post, ironically). But the best engagement happens when we are having one-to-one, real-time, in-the-moment, and talk-to-me experiences.

And your nonprofit will benefit when we introduce phone-based opportunities for two-way conversation. We see ways to help by introducing meaningful engagement, seamless integration, long-term support, and innovation that works.

Read more about this on our “About Us” page, or better yet, talk to one of our team members. Because “talking” is the best kind of engagement.

So, here’s to a new chapter for Synergy–and vicariously, a new chapter for you. We’re inviting you on a journey where partnership will be the tip of the arrow. Together, we’re able to connect with your donors in the most relevant, reachable, and real-time ways… to deepen engagement and to inspire generosity.
